Bartington Introduction

Bartington Instruments is a world-class manufacturer of high-precision, low-noise fluxgate magnetometers for naval defence applications.       The Mag-03RC is a submersible three-axis magnetometer which
      gives excellent measurement performance, with high reliability
      and low maintenance.

  • Key features include:
  •       - Low noise specification <20pTrms/√Hz @ 1Hz
          - Long cable drive capability up to 1000m

  • Typical applications:
  •       - Fixed installation magnetic ranges of all types

Low Power Magnetometer for Battery Powered Systems
      The Mag648S is a submersible, three-axis magnetometer with
      very low power consumption and low noise levels in a compact
      enclosure. It offers excellent sensitivity where limited power is
      available, e.g. in battery-operated systems.

          - Low noise specification <10pTrms/√Hz @ 1Hz
          - Submersible to 2000m

Low Noise Magnetometer for Underwater Applications
      The Mag-03MSS version of the Mag-03 three-axis magnetometer
      offers very low noise levels and wide bandwidth in a small,
      compact enclosure.

  • Key features:
  •       - Very low noise specification <6pTrms/√Hz @ 1Hz
          - Frequency response DC to 3kHz

  • Typical applications:
  •       - Suitable for magnetic ranges and harbour protection, both
            for permanent installation and for easily deployable portable
            systems.

Magnetic Range for Mine Countermeasures Equipment
      The Mag-03 three-axis sensors can be combined with the
      Spectramag-6 data acquisition system to form a small-scale,
      cost effective magnetic measurement range. This system can
      be used for screening the magnetic signature of, for example,
      naval diving apparatus or items for use onboard minesweepers.

  • Key features:
  •       - Operates with 2 three-axis fluxgate sensors
          - Measures magnetic characteristics in XYZ axes
          - Records result on a PC for archiving purposes

Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Magnetic Anomaly Detection
      The Grad-03M three-axis gradiometer can be used for underwater
      UXO, pipe and cable location, when mounted on a carrying
      platform, e.g. an ROV. The magnetic gradiometer provides more
      information than a scalar magnetometer, giving total magnetic field
      as well as gradients in three axes. This can be used for target
      location in shallow water.

  • Key features:
  •       - Enables determination of total field, magnetic gradient and
            heading
          - 100μT dynamic range; 1nT resolution (with Grad-03ACU)
          - Submersible to 5000m
          - analog Correction Unit is available.
